L.J. RANDLES DIES AT WISCONSIN RAPIDS
L. J. Randles, age 66, a veteran traveling salesman of Marshfield
died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.E. Fairbanks in Wisconsin
Rapids at 3:15 o'clock Friday morning. A complication of ailments
superinduced by a nervous breakdown and heart trouble caused
death.
For many years Mr. Randles resided in this city and held the
distinction of Greenwood's first buttermaker. About 25 years ago he
moved to Marshfield where he has since reside.
Mr. Randles was married twice. His first wife preceded him in death
28 years ago. His second wife survives him. He is also survived by
seven children.
The surviving children from the first union are Mrs. Jack Van
Cleve, Rapid City, S.D., Mrs. W. E. Fairbanks, Wisconsin Rapids,
Claire Randles, Marshfield. Milo, Lucille, Kenneth and Lyle are
children from the second union. He also leaves the following
brothers and sister: Mrs. F. A. Riggle, Black River Falls Gustav
Randles, Merrill Rebecca Randles, S.D. and a brother and sister in
Canada.
He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers, the Illinois
Commercial Men's Association, Eagles, Odd Fellows and Fraternal
Reserve Association.
Mr. Randles had been staying with his sister in Black River Falls
since last December, since which time his health has been failing,
and the day before his death he left for Wisconsin Rapids to stay
with his daughter.
The body was brought to Greenwood Monday and laid to rest beside
his first wife in the Greenwood Cemetery.
