OBITUARY OF MARTIN
RICHELEU (OR RICHELIEU)
Martin Theodore Richeleu was born at Black River Falls, Wis., on July 24, 1863. When a small boy he came to Clark County with his parents, growing to manhood on a farm one mile east of Greenwood.
Sept. 19, 1891, he was united in marriage to Ida Steele of Thorp.
To this union were born two daughters, who with an an adopted
daughter survive. They are Mrs. Walter Acker, Greenwood, Mrs. Arno
Vater, Withee and Mrs. Felix Adams, Milwaukee.
Deceased entered St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield on June 13th
for medical treatment. He passed away July 1, 1931 following an
operation. Cause of death was cancer of the stomach.
During the last few years he had made his home at Abbotsford.
The funeral was held from the Baer-Lange Funeral home in Marshfield
Friday at 2:30 p.m. Services were conducted by Rev. Powell of Owen
and the body laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Besides his wife and daughters, he leaves to mourn his great loss,
four grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary Nixon, Seattle, Wash. two
brothers, Charles of Tacoma, Wash., and Chris of Owen, besides a
host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Richeleu was a man of wonderful character and his jovial
disposition endeared him to all. During his suffering he was most
patient, never thinking of himself, but always of others.
