OBITUARIES OF MR. AND MRS. RIGGS.


Grace Irene Peterson, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hogan G. Peterson of Fairchild, Wis., was born in the town of Cleveland, Jackson county, Wis., Feb 19, 1889, and lived there until the spring of 1906 when she went to Seattle, Washington, with a family of friends where she was married to Ernest L. Riggs in 1908.


She died at her home near Greenwood, Wis., on the evening of August 26, 1929.


She leaves besides her children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hogan G. Peterson of Fairchild, Wis. six brothers and three sisters.


Ernest L. Riggs, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin P. Riggs was born at Alma Center, Wis., July 5, 1885 and lived there until the spring of 1906 when he went to South Dakota.


He was married to Grace Irene Peterson at Millette, SD in 1908.


Four children were born to the, Ruby, Mrs. David R. Jones, Elsie, Mrs. Walter E. Grottke and Robert and Wendall at home.


Mr. and Mrs. Riggs returned to Alma Center, Wis., in 1912. In the fall of 1920 they moved to Sechlerville, Wis., where they lived until time of death. He passed away at St. Joseph's hospital, Marshfield, Wis., at 8:45 P. M. August 27, 1929.
He leaves besides his children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin P. Riggs of Alma Center, Wis., three brothers Mark M. of Seagertown, PA, Ralph H. of Racine, Wis., and Clayton W. of Alma Center, Wis., and one sister, Mrs. Chester E. McMullin, Sparta, Wis.


Mr. and Mrs. Riggs have lived in a number of communities and made many friends by thier willingness to help in any time of need. They will be missed by a host of friends in the several places where they have been active in making the life of the community a success.


Double funeral services were held for Mr. and mrs. Riggs from the home of his parents and from the Methodist Episcopal Church at Alma Center, Rev. Weaver officiating, Thursday afternoon, August 29, 1929. Interment was made in East Lawn cemetery.
