Martin Lawrence Ryona, 49, Owen, died on Tuesday, May 14, 1996, in the emergency room of St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield at 10:58 a.m.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 17, 1996, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Al Jakubowski officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Serving as pallbearers were: Dennis Henke, Marvin Paczkowski, Robert Durbin, Donald Esselman, Sidney Skaleski and Roger Hargot.

Marty Ryona was born on November 4, 1946 in Stanley, the son of Martin and Josephine (Jordan) Ryona. He lived his entire life in the Owen-Withee area and was a 1965 graduate of Owen-Withee High School. He was employed with his father at Ryona Body Shop in Withee and in 1981 formed a partnership. Upon the death of his father, Marty became owner and operator along with his wife. Julie Fillipp and Marty were united in marriage on January 31, 1981.

Marty enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid drag racer.

Survivors include his wife Julie Ryona of Owen mother Josephine Ryona of Withee son Lance Ryona of Eau Claire 2 sisters-in-law Norene (bob) Durbin of Withee, Sandra (Allen) Hinker of Greenwood and many nieces and nephew.

Preceded in death by his father Martin I. Ryona on July 14, 1990.

Maurina Funeral Home, Owen was in charge of arrangements.
