SMALL SCRATHC CAUSES DEATH OF GIRL
Linda, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schendel, passed away
at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, early Saturday morning Oct.
31, 1925., following a serious operation.
Linda received a small scratch on her head while at play at the
Eaton Center school about a week ago. Then on Tuesday evening of
last week she again bumped her head and on Thursday her condition
became worse and medical examination disclosed that blood poisoning
had set in.
She was taken to the hospital and everything possible was done to
save her life, but it was too late and she passed away.
Deceased was born in Monroe County, Wis., Feb 23, 1914, where she
spent most of her girlhood. In the spring of 1925 she, with her
parents, moved to Greenwood, Clark County and lived on what is
known as the John Miller farm, 4 miles southeast of this city.
Linda was a bright, loving little girl and was 11 years, 8 months
and 8 days of age at the time of her death. She was in the 6th
grade at the Eaton Center school. She will be missed, not only by
her family, but by her teachers, schoolmates and friends in
general.
Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, where a
large crowd gathered to pay their last respects to this loved one.
The body was taken to Wilton, Monroe County, Monday and was laid to
rest in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at that place.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schendel, four
brothers, Henry, Leo, Edwin and Herbert and two sisters, Iren and
Florence.
The bereaved family have the deepest sympathy of their many
friends. (Eaton Center Corr.)
