Schneider, Richard (1926 - 1999)

 

Richard K. Schneider, age 73, of Elk Mound, WI, passed away Friday, November 19, 1999 at Area Nursing Home, Colfax.


He was born August 27, 1926 in Nye, WI to Fredrick and Zilda (Turbett) Schneider. He attended Lichfield High School in Litchfield, MN. He joined the Navy in 1943. Richard and Margaret A. Biddle were married on October 9, 1946 in Stanley, WI. He was a farmer, licensed horse judge, truck driver, black smith, founder of two poultry clubs, owner and operator of Elk Creek Kennel, and retired from Northern Colony, Chippewa Falls in 1991. He was an avid dog lover, and also loved hunting and fishing.


Richard is survived by his wife, Margaret children: Brian (Phyllis) of Chippewa Falls, WI, Jenni (Kenny) Hauser of West Salem, WI, Joyce (Richard) Lees of Neward, OH, Michael (Mary) of Arkansaw, WI and Janice Schneider of Madison, WI. 13 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren one brother, Donald (Yvonne) Schneider of Crystal Lake, MN and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents two brothers: Lyle Snyder and Clair Snyder grandson, Bobby Hauser and special little poodle, Henni Penny.


Private family services will be held for Richard. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the West Central Pigeon and Poultry Club, or Wisconsin Fur and Feather Club. The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is serving the family.
