ANNA KOEHLER SCHWARZE, 1886 - 1927

MRS. ADOLPH SCHWARZE.

The announcement of the passing away of Mrs. Adolph Schwarze, at her home in this city, Sunday February 13, 1927, brought sorrow to a large circle of relatives and friends, for Mrs. Schwarze had a large acquaintance and had many warm, friends who were deeply grieved to learn of her death, although it had been known of some time that the end was inevitable.

Anna Koehler was born, March 6, 1886, in the town of Green Grove, Clark County, and was married to Adolph Schwarze, Oct. 23, 1907. They took up their residence at Greenwood and it was here that Mrs. Schwarze made her home until her death.

One son, Durward was born to this union, who, together with Mr. Schwarze, survive. She also leaves to mourn her untimely death, three sisters, Mrs. Fred Thieme of Curtiss, Wis., Mrs. T. L. Mcmullin of Janesville, Wis., and Mrs. E. A. Ecke of Mt. Hope, Wis., and many relatives and friends.

The funeral was held last Thursday afternoon from the local Reformed Church, of which deceased was a member and the building was scarcely large enough to accommodate the large concourse of friends and relatives who gathered to pay a final tribute to one whom they had regarded with high esteem. The business places of the city were closed during the funeral.

Rev. Pfeiffer and Rev. Vriesen officiated and the pallbearers were A. C. Buker, H. M. Pratt, Harry Hogue, Otto Creg, P. E. Peterson and E. N. Paul. Burial was made in the Greenwood cemetery.

The fact that the church was filled to capacity is the best testimony of the esteem in which Mrs. Schwarze was generally held. The floral offerings were wonderful and so numerous that they were difficult to arrange about the casket.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral included Mrs. Aug. Schoelzel, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bahn of Colby, Mrs. Herb Meyers of Green Grove, Mr. A. B. Clancy and R. J. Quast of Eau Claire, Fred Thieme and family of Curtiss, Wm. Klessig of Green Grove, Mrs. McMullun of Janesville and Mrs. Ecke of Mt. Hope.
