COUNTY'S OLDEST RESIDENT DIES


Henry Sitts, the oldest resident of Clark County, died at his home in Loyal, Friday, Dec. 4th, 1925.


He was born in St. Lawrence County, N.Y., Dec. 22, 1830 and came to Dodge county, Wis, in 1847 where he was united in mariage to Miss Elizabeth Kellogg. The same year he came to Clark County and settled on a homestead 2 miles north of Loyal, at that time a wilderness, where he made his home for 45 years.


After leaving his farm he went to Loyal to live. His wife preceded him in death Feb. 18, 1918. At the time of his death he was 94 years, 11 mos. and 12 days of age.


He was a kind and loving husband, father and neighbor.


He leaves to mourn his loss one son, Chas. Sitts of Wauzeka, Wis., and five daughters, Mrs. Calrie Arndt, Selfridge, N.D., Mrs. Ellen Coon, Loyal, Wis., Mrs. Flora Draper, Loyal, Wis., Mrs. Anna Carey, Merrill, Wis., and Mrs. Edna Cone, Greenwood, Wis., and seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.


Funeral services were held at Loyal, Sunday afternoon at one o'clock and the body was laid to rest in Pine Grove Cemetery, near Loyal. Many years ago Mr. Sitts donated the piece of land for this cemetery.
