ADOLPH WESSEL
Adolph Wessel, 67, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Dec. 1,
1976. A resident of the Town of Warner, rural Greenwood, Clark
County, he was taken by Greenwood ambulance to the Greenwood
Clinic, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 4 at Zion United Church
of Christ, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. David Logue
officiated at the services.
Born Oct. 26, 1909 in the Town of Mead, Mr. Wessel received his
education in rural Greenwood schools.
He was married to Lorinda Horn on June 17, 1943 at Greenwood. Prior
to his marriage he had worked in Dixon, Ill. and following his
marriage farmed in the Town of Warner until he retired on the farm
in 1974.
For several years he had been a member of the board of directors at
Zion United church of Christ and was a member of the Zion Adult
Fellowship.
Surviving is his wife, Lorinda, two sons, Everett, Milwaukee and
Emmett, Sheboygan, one brother, Albert of Greenwood and one sister,
Mrs. Lydia Tieman, Greenwood.
His parents, Adolph Sr. and Anna, two brothers and a sister
preceded him in death.
Pallbearers at the funeral were Francis Kohlnhofer, Bernard Maass,
Donald Ewold, Robert Schneider, Charles Hoeper and Art
Hendrickson.
Organist was Mrs. Gary Schultz, with Mr. Gary Schultz as the
singer. Rinka Funeral Home was in charge.
