OBITUARY FOR MRS. JULIUS SORENSON
Marie Sigrid Sorenson was born March 7, 1859
at Fredrickshald, Norway, and died Dec. 3, 1924 at her home at
Longwood, Clark County, Wis., aged 65 years, 8 months and 27
days.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Julius Sorenson on May 17, 1880
at Chirstiania, Norway. The young couple immigrated to America May
21st of the same years. They came directly to their present home at
Longwood, where they have resided during the past 44 years.
Eight children were born to this union, three sons and five
daughters. One son, John, and two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Erickson
and Miss Hilda Sorenson preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Carl and Henry at the
family home, three daughters, Mrs. Louis Jackson of Longwood, Wis.,
Mrs. Rudolph Erickson of Larson, Wis., and Mrs. Harold Jorenby of
Greenwood, Wis., and ten grandchildren, fours sisters and one
brother, besides a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
One sister and the brother are still in Norway, one sister in
Idaho, one in Washington and one in Chicago, Ill.
Mrs. Sorenson was a lovely woman, a kind and loving wife and mother
and a good neighbor, who had the respect of all who knew her. He
untimely death is a great loss to the relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Longwood Lutheran Church last
Saturday afternoon, Rev. M. K. Aaberg of Greenwood officiating. The
funeral was attended by a very large crowd of relatives and
friends.
May she rest in peace.
