WALTER S. STABNOW
 

Greenwood - Rites for Walter Samuel Stabnow, 88, of Greenwood, Clark County, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. Mr. Stabnow died Thursday, May 1, 1974, at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital.


The Rev. Charles D. Brady, pastor, will officiate, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.


The body will lie in state at the Hill Funeral Home, Greenwood, beginning at 7 p.m. today (Friday).


A longtime Greenwood resident, Mr. Stabnow was born July 4, 1885, in Hecia S.D. He came to Greenwood with his parents at 15 years of age and had resided her since, until a year ago, when he entered the Neillsville Memorial Home.


His marriage to the former Theresa Gries took place Oct. 17, 1911, at Greenwood. She preceded him in death.


Surviving him are a daughter, Mrs. Ted (Imogene) Ampe, Neillsville two sons, Walter W. ,St. Paul, Minn. and Lawrence H., Cordova, Alaska nine grand children and 21 great-grandchildren.
