Anna Stangret, 92, Stanley, WI, died Saturday, January 30, 1999 at Victory Medical Center, Stanley.


Anna was born in Stanley, WI on November 2, 1906 the daughter of Adolph Sr. and Rose (Schefke) Paul. She was raised on a farm just northeast of Stanley, WI and attended Maple Hill School. She was married to Casper P. Stangret on October 27, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI. They lived in Milwaukee for a few years before returning back to the area where they lived and farmed in the Cadott area. They then moved back to Stanley where she was employed at Victory Memorial Hospital and later was a foster grandparent at the Northern Center for the Developmentally Disabled until her retirement.


She is survived by two daughters: Delores (Richard) Slobodnik of Withee, WI and Carol Bourget of Boyd, WI along with eight Grandchildren, thirteen Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild and one sister, Frances Drozd of Stanley, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Casper, a son David, son-in-law Roman Bourget, granddaughter Roxanne Slobodnik, a brother Adolph Jr. and sister Julia Gordon.


Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 3, 1999, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley, WI with Father Robert Nelson officiating. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation was from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at the Church. Family members served as pallbearers. Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley assisted the family with arrangements.
