Mrs. Arthur Steele Dies Suddenly
Ann Isabel Barrett, was born in Canada,
November 13, 1874, the only daughter of William and Mary Barrett
and passed away at her home in the Town of Warner, Monday
afternoon, May 22, 1939 of a heart attack.
She was married to Arthur Steele of Thorp, May 26, 1895. To this
union were born eight children. They moved to their present home in
the spring of 1933. She has always been active in community affairs
when her health permitted. Mrs. Steele has been suffering for some
time with a heart ailment, but lately she seemed better.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Maud, Mrs. Charles
Frinhld, Thorp Nina, Mrs. Romain Burnett of Chetek Ruth, Mrs. John
Zimmer, Greenwood three sons, Paul, Arthur, and Roger at home. Two
sons Ernest and Ralph preceded their mother in death. She is also
survived by two brothers, William Barrett of Thorp Ernest Barrett
of Milwaukee and one adopted brother, Frank Beechwood of St. Paul,
12 grandchildren and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, May 25, 1939
at the Methodist church at Thorp with Rev. C.R. Gaylord of
Greenwood officiating, assisted by Rev. Irish of Thorp. She will be
laid to rest in the family lot at Thorp. Mmes. Geog. Haeusen and
Harold Stabnow of Greenwood will sing and be accompanied by Miss
Bishop, also of this city.
