Lyle Edward Stelter, 79, Stanley, WI died 5:50 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls, WI.
Lyle was born November 23, 1919 to Edward and Ethel (Shilts)
Stelter at Chippewa Falls, WI and grew up in the Town of Worden. He
married Florence Pagel on October 10, 1942 at Thorp, WI. He was
employed at Gillett Tire Co. and Presto Industries for a time. In
1946 they purchased a farm in the Town of Lafayette and in 1951
they moved to the Town of Thorp where he farmed until 1982 when
they retired and moved to Stanley, WI. Lyle was a member of
Epiphany Lutheran Church and Mens' Club. Lyle loved farming, the
outdoors and making people laugh. He will be sadly missed by family
and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Stelter of Stanley five
daughters: (Jeanette) Mrs. Frank Isenberger of Morganfield,
Kentucky, Mrs. Nancy Turecek of Racine, WI, Mrs. Bonnie Vircks of
Stanley, WI, (Donna) Mrs. Michael Thompson of Cumberland, WI, Wendy
Stelter of Menomonie, WI eight grandchildren: Annette, Diana,
Toddy, Theresa, Chad, Brad, Darren, and Roxanne ten great
grandchildren: Curtiss, Ami, Cassidy, Danielle, Brittany, Carley,
Brandon, Benji, Bailee and Brady one brother, Marlin Stelter of
Stanley, WI four sisters: Mrs. Edna Wilda of Chippewa Falls, WI,
(Genevieve) Mrs. Clarence Acker and Mrs. Jeanette Vitort both of
Stanley, and (Eleanor) Mrs. Tom White of Nashville, Tenn. Lyle was
preceded in death by his parents 3 grandchildren: Jody Jean Vircks,
Keith and Kenneth Isenberger 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
Funeral services were held at Ephiphany Lutheran Church, Monday,
March 1, 1999, 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Jedd D. Berndt officiating.
Burial was in Edson Union Cemetery, Boyd. Visitation was from 4:00
p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28 at Plombon Funeral Home.
