OBITUARY DR. BYRON C. STEVENS
The community learned with a feeling of deep sadness of the passing
away of one of our most respected and honorable citizens, Dr. Byron
C. Stevens, on Wednesday night, Jan. 10, 1917, at 11:45 P.M. as the
result of heart trouble, which had baffled the skill of several
physicians, the loving nursing of those dear to him and the fight
for life of the brave man himself. With the loving thoughtfulness
of those dear to him, which had characterized his life. He fought
to hide his suffering with the bright smile that had cheered many a
passing acquaintances as well as his friends so often during his
walk in life. He had not been confined to his bed and retired at
7:30 Wednesday evening, falling into a peaceful slumber from which
he did not awaken. Although he, as well as the family realized that
this was a critical illness. So suddenly did the end come that not
all of his relatives reached his bedside before he passed away.
