Barbara Stoiber (1927 -
2000)
Barbara J. Stoiber, 72, Dorchester, Clark Co., WI died Saturday, April 15 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 19 at St. Louis
Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Rev. James Schaefer
officiating. Interment took place at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren Jeff Millikin, Keith Haldeman,
Michael, Jason, and Justin Stoiber, and Jeff Sales.
Maurina Funeral Home of Dorchester assisted the family with
arrangements.
The former Barbara Fischer was born on December 4, 1926 at Chippewa
Falls to Barbara (Frischman) and the late George Fischer.
Her marriage to Alvin Stoiber took place on October 22, 1947 at St.
Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. They farmed in the Town of
Mayville until 1974. She was employed as a nurse's aid at St.
Joseph's Hospital. She later worked at Continental Manor Nursing
Home in Abbotsford for 20 years, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the PCCW. She
enjoyed crocheting, gardening and raising flowers, and
ceramics.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by one son,
Richard (Diane), Glidden one daughter, Marge (David) Miller,
Deltona, Fla. three brothers, Donald (Ann), Milwaukee, Gerald (Mary
Ann), Hartford, and Glendon (Joan), La Crosse three sisters,
Laverne Harder, Medford, Bernice Millikin, Hartford, and Marcella
(Leon) Hamel, La Fayette, Ind. nine grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one
daughter, Barbara Racine and two brothers, Kenneth and Eugene.
Memorials in her name may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church.
