JEROME STREMIKIS SR.


Jerome Stremikis Sr., 83, Willard died Friday, July 26, 1991, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, 1991, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Rev. Michael Mertens officiated and burial was in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steven Stremikis, Jeremy Stremikis, Ronald Volk, Charles Machan, Henry Janezich, Walter Hribar.


Jerome Stremikis Sr. was born Oct. 6,1907, in Waukegan, Ill., to Anthony and Catherine (nee Valancaite) Stremikiks. He received his education at Waukegan and Blackberry Schools. He married Ann Volk Oct. 29, 1938, in Willard. She survives. He farmed in the town of Hendren and worked for Roddis Plywood in Marshfield for 15 years. He also worked for Tripoli in Neillsville, and Agriculture Adjustment Act for a number of years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a past school clerk for Blackberry School.


Survivors include his wife four sons, Jerome Stremikis Jr., Willard Larry Stremikis, Hawaii John Stremikis, Madison and Joseph Stremikis, England one daughter, Bernadette Stremikis, Wausau one brother, August Stremikis, Willard and nine grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Anthony and Charles one sister, Catherine and one son in infancy.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
