HARRY C. STRICKER

NEILLSVILLE--Harry C. Stricker, 63, of 118 Court St., was found dead at his home about 10 a.m. Sunday. Death was a result of a heart condition and it was believed he had died at least 24 hours before being found.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Neillsville, the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Neillsville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday until noon at Gesche Funeral Home, and then at the church an hour before services.

Mr. Stricker was born Jan. 21, 1918 at Fairchild to Christian and Helen (Klett) Stricker. He was educated in Neillsville schools and worked here for several years before moving to Iowa. He returned two years later in 1951 and was employed by the Clark County Department of Social Services where he worked until retiring in 1979 due to ill health.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post 73.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Verna Mallory of Neillsville.

He was predeceased by his parents.

HARRY STRICKER

His father was Christian Stricker who was the son of Michael Stricker. Michael Stricker was the son of Michael Stricker, Senior.

Michael Stricker, Senior, was married to Maragetha Fix and they came to the United States in approximately 1853-56 and settled in the Ashton, Wisconsin area. They were farmers in an area just outside Middleton (Madison), Wisconsin. Their oldest son was Michael who was the father of Christian Stricker. Christian Stricker was the father of Harry Stricker.

The Stricker family was from the Alsace region of Germany and France. The Fix family is from Aschbach near Strasbourg in the Bas Rhin region of now France (although this Alsace region has been part of Germany in the past).

My connection is that Jacob Stricker, my great, great grandfather was the brother of Michael Stricker (the father of Christian Stricker).
