Edwin Stumpner (1941 - 1999)
Edwin P. Stumpner, 58, Curtiss, died Sunday,
Nov. 21 at his home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at
Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford with Rev. Lauren Ley
officiating. Burial took place at Pine Hill Cemetery in Curtiss
with full military rites conducted by the Colby VFW. Pallbearers
were Ed Beyerl, Kenneth Stumpner, Eugene Stumpner, Paul Stumpner,
Jr., Joe Feldbruegge, Mike Epping, and Joseph Stumpner.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Maurina
Funeral Home.
Edwin Stumpner was born March 6, 1941 at the Town of Green Grove to
the late Paul George and Alvira (Wachsmuth) Stumpner. He graduated
from Janesville High School. He was then employed with Parker Pen
Company in Janesville. He entered the service in 1966 in the US
Army and served in Vietnam.
He married Wanda Tracy in 1960 and they later divorced. In 1968 he
married Lois Ann Carle and they later divorced.
He farmed in the Town of Green Grove, was a milk hauler for Kaatz
Trucking and worked at Abbyland Foods in Abbotsford. At the time of
his death he was employed with Weather Shield in Medford.
He was a member of the Unity American Legion. He enjoyed logging,
hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include special friend, Christine Meyers, Curtiss eight
children, Corrina (Tom) Dorcey, and Jon Stumpner, both of
Janesville, Missy Pipkorn, Owen, Rhonna Thayer, Whitewater, Tammy
Untiedt, Jacob Meyers, Stephanie Meyers, and Susan Meyers, all of
Curtiss four brothers, Eugene (Lila), Greenwood, Kenneth, Curtiss,
Paul (Julie), Jr., Owen, and Joseph, Mosinee nine sisters, Isabelle
(Alvin) Brenner, Curtiss, Kathleen (William) Ryba, Boyd, Mary Jane
(Maynard) Tracy, Janesville, Barbara (Richard) Soback, and Jennifer
(William) Schuette, both of Unity, Linda (Maurice) Sterken, and
Lila (Michael) Thayer, both of Whitewater, Carolyn (Victor) Smazal,
Colby, and Cynthia (Doug) Hayes, Darien and eight
grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant
sister, Marion, and one brother, Dale, in 1998.
