Stephanie Swim, 95, Thorp, WI, died Thursday, May 6, 1999 at Victory Medical Center, Stanley, WI.

Stephanie was born March 27, 1904 in the Town of Taft, Rural Thorp to Peter and Marian (Kempa) Kemie. She married Harley E. Swim, Sr. November 15, 1922 in Thorp, WI. She lived in the Town of Taft, Rural Thorp most of her life.

Surviving are her children: Harley (Helen) Swim of Stanley, WI, Ellery (Jane) Swim of San Jose, CA, Dawn (Joe) Waichulis of Thorp, WI, Beverly (Gerald) Mann of Mountain Home, Idaho, Anita Swim of Thorp, WI, Arvallee (Ernest) Spaltner of Milwaukee, WI 34 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harley E. Swim, Sr. June 2, 1974, 3 brothers: Frank, John, and Ben and 2 grandchildren: Dennis DeRouin and Wesley Spaltner.

Funeral service was held Saturday, May 8, 1999, 10:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Stanley, WI with Rev. Michael Weaver officiating. Burial was in East Thorp Cemetery, Thorp. Grandchildren served as pallbearers. Visitation was at Thorp Funeral Home Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church.
