JAMES SYTH PASSED AWAY SUNDAY


James Nelson SYTH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. SYTH residing 3 1/2 miles southeast of Greenwood, was born in the town of Eaton, December 11, 1903. He graduated from the local high school with the class of 1926, and has been in the employ of the Northern States Power company as first class lineman for several years.


He passed away Sunday morning about 7:00 o'clock from injuries suffered Friday morning when he accidentally came in contact with an 11,000 volt high power wire while working at Chili.


He was taken to the Granton Clinic immediately but little hope of his recovery was given by physicians when the examination revealed that his forehead had been burned through to the brain, in addition to burns on both hands and two fractured ribs, the latter suffered in his 25 foot fall from the pole.


He is survived by his parents, one brother Vern and two sisters, Lila, Mrs. Carl STABNOW of Greenwood and Lucille of Milwaukee.


Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, June 8, 1938 and at 2:00 o'clock from the Methodist church, Rev. C. R. GAYLORD officiated. The body was laid to rest in the Greenwood cemetery.


The pallbearers were Ernest CHRISTIE, Roy MCCONNELL, Orville KALLOFEN, Lloyd MACKNICK, George SCHERER, Jr., Eugene CHRISTIE.


The flower girls were Mae CHRISTIE, Wilma STONEBERG, Beatrice SYTH and Abertine SYTH.
