EDWARD THEIRL (1921 - 2000)
Edward Charles THEIRL, 79, of Stanley passed
away Tuesday, February 22, 2000, at United Hospital in St. Paul,
MN.
He was born January 16, 1921, in Stanley, the son of George and
Anna THEIRL. He attended St. Anne's Catholic School and graduated
from Stanley High School in 1938.
He was employed by the Stanley Bottling Works until he enlisted in
the US Navy during World War II.
After the war, he returned to Stanley and married Leanna HAYWARD,
daughter of J.L. and Mary HAYWARD. He worked for, and eventually
became the owner of, Plombon Furniture Store until his
retirement.
He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Knights of Columbus,
American Legion, School Board, Zoning Board, and the Stanley
Housing Authority.
He is survived by his wife, Leanna three sons, James (Barbara) of
Inver Grove Heights, MN, Todd (Karen) of Stanley, and Scott (Jill)
of Stillwater, MN two daughters, Pam (Thomas) HARNISCH of
Neillsville and Terry (Bob) CATTANACH of St. Paul, MN
grandchildren, Peter, Michael, Paul, and Andrew THEIRL, Jesse
THEIRL, Matthew and Elizabeth THEIRL, Erin, Heather, Tommy, Holly,
and Jeffrey HARNISCH, Philip, Sarah, and Katherine CATTANACH two
brothers, Herbert of Sparta and Bill of Bowling Green, KY and a
sister, Marion SMITH of Covington, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna THEIRL
brothers, Ray, Robert, George, Jr., and Frank and sisters, Alice
PLOMBON, Lora HULS, and Margaret SHERER.
A Mass of Resurrection was held Friday, February 25, at Holy Family
Church in Stanley. The Stanley VFW Post 2711 conducted military
graveside rites.
Plombon Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
