Holnbach, Rena (1901 - 1981)

Mrs. Rena Holnbach, 80, of 300 S. Main, Loyal, Clark County, died Saturday morning, Sept. 12, 1981, at Memorial Home, Neillsville.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15, at York Center United Methodist Church. Rev. Donald Adams officiated and burial was in the Windfall Cemetery, Granton.

Rena Montgomery was born on Jan. 17, 1901, at Plymouth to the late Orin and Alice (nee Prindle) Montgomery. She received her education at Granton School.

Before her marriage, she worked in La Crosse for the National Gauge Co. She also worked in the restaurant with her folks at Granton.

She was married to Otto Holnbach on Jan. 17, 1931, at Granton. After their marriage, they lived in Iowa for two years, then moved to Granton, where they farmed. They later bought a farm in the Town of York. In 1958, they moved to the City of Loyal. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1981.

She was a member of the York Center Church.

Survivors include her husband, Otto two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Preising of Milwaukee and Mrs. Henry (Arlene) Knoll of Greenwood one son, Wayne of Rudolph three brothers, Peter of Phillips, Allen of Granton and Byrl of Buckley, Wash. eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were three sisters and one brother.

Brian Preising, Lon Knoll, Keith Holnbach, Roger Hartges, Pat McFarlane and Vern Ahlers, all grandsons, served as pallbearers. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.
