ILLNESS FATAL TO W. H. TOBUREN
RITES TUESDAY FOR GREENWOOD MAN, 72
Greenwood - William Henry Toburen, 72, Greenwood, Clark County, died Saturday, April 25, 1953, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, of a heart attack. Ill for over a year, he had been admitted to the hospital earlier Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the West Side
Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Rev. Charles Koch officiating.
Burial will be made in the West Side cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Toburen home until 10 a.m.
Tuesday.
A native of Cincinnati, Mr. Toburen was born Jan. 22, 1881. He was
a year old when his parents came to a farm near here.
His marriage to Anna Schmidt took place June 3, 1908, at Alma. They
lived in Wausau for a short time before settling on a farm 6 miles
northwest of Greenwood, where they lived until 1945 when they moved
to Greenwood.
At one time, Mr. Toburen was a member of the school board and town
board in the Town of Mead.
Surviving him are his wife and four children, Mrs. Fred (Ruth)
Robbins, Minneapolis Ervin and Delmar, of Greenwood and Mrs. John
(Delores) Goger, Chicago. Eight grandchildren the the following
brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Nels (Louise) Fulsang,
Chicago, Mrs. Arthur (Amelia) Syth, Greenwood and Gust Toburen,
Wausau.
