BASIL G. TUCKER (1937 - 2000)
Basil G. TUCKER, 62, of Buffalo Grove died
suddenly March 9, 2000, in Galliano, LA. He was born December 21,
1937, in Marion County, Alabama.
He was united in marriage to Beverly GEIST on August 2, 1959, at
St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Franklin Park, IL. He was a
member of the American Legion, V.F.W., and the American Vets.
Basil served his country in the US Marines from 1954 - 1958. He was
an owner of Tucker Automotive in Palatine for 30 years. He loved
the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing in the Louisiana
Bayous.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of 40 years sister, Donna
CLANTON, of Glen Allen, AL brothers, William (Sue) of Long Grove
and Jerry (Marsha) of Palatine. He was a fond brother-in-law of
several and the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Wilburn C. BARNES, Jr.,
father, Grady TUCKER, and mother Edna BARNES.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, March 22, at St. Mary's
Church in Buffalo Grove. Graveside service will be held on
Saturday, March 25, 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in
Boyd. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Boyd
American Legion Post 326.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer
Society, 100 W. Palatine Rd., Palatine, IL, 60067.
Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with the
arrangements.
