CLARK COUNTY PIONEER LAID
TO REST.
Mrs. Mary Turner died at the home of her daughter, on Saturday morning, June 5, after an illness of over a year.
Mary J. Davis was born in Pierce Co., this state, Feb. 5 1852. She
spent her girlhood in the vicinity of Neillsville and on March 22
1873 she was united in marriage to Albert M. Turner. They came to
their farm in the town of York about 50 years ago, where they
resided until 12 years ago when they moved to Loyal. For the past
four years she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Walls who has
tenderly cared for her during her illness.
Mrs. Turner united with the Methodist Church under the pastorate of
Rev. L. W. McKibban in 1889.and was a active worker as long as her
health permitted.
She was of a quite nature but cheerful and made friends with those
she came in contact with so she will be greatly missed, not only in
the home circle but by her relatives and friends as well.
She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Wm. Walls, one sister Mrs. S.
A. Lloyd, and two grand children besides other relatives and a host
of friends. Mr. Turner preceded her in death two years ago and her
son Albert, seven years ago.
The funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, Monday at
1:30 p.m., Rev W. P. Powell, a former pastor.
She was laid to rest in the Loyal Cemetery.--- Loyal Tribune.
