Elmer O. Twait, 86, Owen, died on Wednesday, December 1, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 4, 1999 at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Terri Blomberg, pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Longwood, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers were: Harold Sorenson, Rich Sorenson, Kim Pomputis, Roger Pomputis, Jerry Hester, and Roland Bingham. Visitation was at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, Friday, December 3, 1999 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Elmer was born on August 10, 1913, in Ottawa, IL, where he received his early education. On January 18, 1943, Elmer and the former Julia Pomputis were united in marriage in Minneapolis. They resided in Chicago, IL and both were employed with R. Cooper, Jr. Distributors. Elmer was employed for 27 years in the packaging/shipping department. Julie and Elmer retired and moved to reside in their Town of Longwood home, rural Owen, since 1978.

Elmer will be dearly missed by his wife of 56 years Julia Twait of Owen sister-in-law Josephine Pomputis, Willard and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents 4 brothers: Fred, Silas, nels and Oalf Twait 4 sisters: Martha Sorenson, Helen Bingham, Evelyn Talso, and Elizabeth Twait.
