Ervin Edmund Van Den Heuvel, 83, Stanley, WI, died Friday, March 26, 1999 at Zastrow Care Center, Gilman.
Ervin was born on January 23, 1916 in
Buckman, MN, the son of William and Theresa (Janson) Van Den
Heuvel. When he was 4 years old the family moved to Gilman, WI
where he grew up. In 1936 he moved to Stanley, WI and worked for
Heagle Mfg. and area farms. He enlisted in the Air Force the day
after Pearl Harbor and served in the South Pacific and was
honorably discharged in February of 1946. He worked for the Stanley
Corporation, Howell Co. and Cardinal Corp. until his retirement in
1981. He was married to Mildred Haase at St. Ann's Catholic Church
in Stanley on June 5, 1948. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic
Church, Emer-Quinn Council 3249 of the Knights of Columbus, a 4th
degree member of Mother Seton Assembly Knights of Columbus and the
Thorp American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Millie and a sister, Helen Tryboski of
Stanley and Rolling Hill Estates, CA and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Irene Russell
Van Den Heuvel 5 brothers: Aloys, Elmer, Roman, Arthur and Kenneth
and 1 sister, Laura Fry.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 30, 1999, 11:00 a.m. at
Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley, with Father Robert Nelson
officiating. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation was
Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley. A
Parish Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the
funeral home by the Knights of Columbus.
