Florence Viegut
(1912 - 2000)
Florence Esther Viegut, 87, Abbotsford, Clark County, WI died Saturday, Jan. 8 at Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at Christ Lutheran
Church in Abbotsford with Rev. Dr. Paul C. Hunsicker officiating.
Burial took place at the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Pallbearers
were her grandsons, Gary Viegut, Dan Koerner, Brian Viegut, Lanny
Viegut, Kevin Carstensen, Todd Wittlinger, Shannon Underwood,
Jeremy Viegut, Matt Sebold, and Tyler Viegut.
Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford assisted the family with
arrangements.
The former Florence E. Wyman was born on July 7, 1912 to the late
Gottlieb and Ida (Beer) Wyman in Illinois. As a young lady, she
moved with her family to Wisconsin.
Her marriage to the late Clarence Viegut, who died in March of
1971, took place on December 27, 1930 in Marathon County. They
farmed in the Town of Wein, rural Stratford, and then purchased a
farm in the Town of Holton, rural Dorchester, where they farmed
until her husband's death. At that time, she moved to Abbotsford
where she has resided until the time of her death. She was at one
time a cook for the Draper School of Dorchester.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting
and cooking.
Survivors include, eight daughters, Charmaine (Harold) Amacher,
Judy (Verlyn) Wittlinger, Carla (Duane) Wepfer, and Gail (Duane)
Underwood, all of Abbotsford, Yvonne (Donald) Koerner, Dorchester,
Jelaine (Jerald) Carstensen, Medford, Debra (Greg) Stoiber, Green
Bay, and Cindy (Jeff) Sebold, Colby four sons, Clarence (Elaine),
Tomahawk, and Jim (Sherry), Jeff (Sue), and Mark (Darla), all of
Abbotsford one sister, Helen Nikolay, Marshfield one brother,
Vernon (Wilma) Wyman, Rozellville 33 grandchildren and 41
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death
by one son, LaVern two granddaughters one grandson and one
great-grandson.
