OBITUARY FOR PHILIP VOLLRATH
 

Philip Vollrath was born in Angenthal, Germany, March 9, 1848. In the spring of 1868 he came to this country with his parents. They at first resided at Franklin, Sheboygan County, Wis. In the spring of 1870 he came to the town of Warner, Clark County and settled down near the present homestead.


He was married on Sept. 2, 1875. Seven children were born in this union, two preceding him in death. One sister, Mrs. Henry Fravert, also preceded him in death.


He died Saturday morning Oct. 27, 1923, having reach the age of 75 years, 7 months and 18 days.


The bereaved are his aged wife, one brother Wm. Vollrath, three sons Wm., Rudolph and Henry and two daughters, Mrs. August Schwarze and Mrs. Geo. Korp, the latter of Minneapolis, besides twenty one grandchildren.


Deceased was a kind and lovable husband and father and will be a great loss to the family circle and his many friends.


Funeral services were held from Immanuel Reformed Church on the West Side last Wednesday afternoon. The services were attended by a large crowd. Rev. O. Vriesen officiated. The body was laid to rest in the West Side Cemetery.
