JOHN HABHEGGER


Funeral services were conducted at the Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, by Rev. Bruno Schlactenhaufen, at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, for John Habhegger, 91, of 217 West St., Loyal, Clark County, who passed away at 4 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 1977, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Mrs. Erwin Dux sang at the service, accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Voss on the organ. Burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.


John Habhegger was born to Gotfried and Anna Guett Habhegger on Dec. 5, 1885, at Fulda, Minn. He received his education at Watertown rural Schools.


He came to Clark County at the age of 18 and farmed with his parents in the Town of Loyal until 1928. He was married to Anna Zuege on June 27, at the Lutheran parsonage in Loyal. They purchased a farm in the Town of Sherman. They farmed there until 1952, when they retired, but still had a chicken farm on Highway 98.


He was formerly a member of the Taft School Board and the Lyons School Board.


Surviving him are his wife, Anna two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Lois) Worchel of Spencer, and Mrs. LaVerne (Catherine) Kronberger of Loyal and two grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents one brother and two sisters.


Art Schuette, Elmer Blankenberg, Garth Luchterhand, Lloyd Hansen, Walter Bredlau and Paul Gloudeman served as pallbearers.
