Samuel Peter Voytovich, 67, Eau Claire, WI, died Sunday, April 25, 1999 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.


He was born on August 20, 1931 at Huron at the family home to Anthony and Julia (Teliscak) Voytovich. He grew up in the area and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Agriculture. He then served in the U.S. Army in Europe. After his term in the service he returned to the University of Wisconsin graduating with a degree in Pharmacy. He married Mary Michalak on August 28, 1971 at St. John's Orthodox Church in Huron. After their marriage they moved to Eau Claire, WI where they have resided since. He had worked for the Eau Claire Co-op Pharmacy before establishing the Eastside Pharmacy of which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1997.


He is survived by his wife Mary of Eau Claire, WI three daughters: Katherine Voytovich of California, Sandra (Elhabib) Benhabib-Voytovich of St. Paul, MN and Martha Voytovich of St. Paul, MN one brother, David (Beverly) Voytovich, rural Stanley, WI two sister-in-laws: Julie Voytovich of New Brighton, MN and Genia Voytovich of Minneapolis, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Anna Tyznik, 2 brothers: Nicholas and Anthony and 1 nephew Glenn Voytovich.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 1, 1999, 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Orthodox Church in Huron with Father Patrick Kelley and Father Steven Voytovich officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley with a Panikida service at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral Home. Burial will be in St. John's Orthodox Cemetery. Nephews serving as pallbearers.
