Vernetta Wilke
(1911 - 1999)
Vernetta B. Wilke, 88, Dorchester,Clark County, WI died Monday, Dec. 6 at the Memorial Nursing Home in Medford.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 10 at St. Peter Lutheran
Church in Dorchester with Rev. Jerome Freimuth officiating. Burial
took place at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan
Faber, Rhody Jakusz, David Faber, Bob Wilke, Raymond Dassow and
David Rau.
Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester assisted the family with
arrangements.
The former Vernetta Winchell was born May 18, 1911 at Dorchester to
the late Delbert and Clara (Krakenberger) Winchell.
Her marriage to Max Wilke, who died February 10, 1982, took place
on October 26, 1927 at Dorchester. They farmed in the Town of
Mayville, and in 1982 moved to the Village of Dorchester.
She was a member of St. Peter Church. She enjoyed quilting, making
rugs, gardening, and playing cards.
Survivors include three daughters, Hilda (Louis) Boxrucker,
Dorchester, Darlene (Raymond) Dassow, Medford, and Bernice (James)
Beck, Stevens Point one son, Norman, Plover one sister, Nora
Motelet, Abbotsford 21 grandchildren 36 great-grandchildren and 5
great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death
by one daughter, Betty Faber, and three grandchildren.
