Glenn J. Willger, 82, Stanley, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 1998 at Victory Medical Center, Stanley, WI.
Glenn was born on April 25, 1916 at LaCrosse, WI, the son of Peter
and Mabel (Sletten) Willger. The family moved to Gilman, WI and he
graduated from Gilman High School in 1935. On November 29, 1941
Glenn was married to Lois Nichols at St. Peter & Paul Church in
Gilman, WI. In October of 1945 they moved to Stanley where he
operated Glenn's Texaco service station for 25 years. Glenn also
was a school bus driver for the Stanley School District for 35
years.
Glenn was employed at Hofkes Chevrolet in Stanley till his
retirement in 1986. Glenn was a member of the Stanley Rod Gun Club
Stanley Sno-Chargers Stanley Commercial Club.
Glenn is survived by his wife Lois of Stanley, WI three daughters
Nancy (Ronald) Ziemba of Gilman, WI, Joanne (Donald) Gadke of
Stanley, WI, Debra (Kirk) Hendrickson of Eau Claire, WI two sons:
James (Debra) of Eau Claire, WI, Steven (Kerry) of Manhatten, MT 18
grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren three sisters: Angeline
(Alfred) Nichols of Gilman, WI, Esther Abramovicz of Thorp, WI,
Lorrine (Ben) Thomas of Cudahy, WI one brother Norbert (Rose) of
Racine, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 2, 1999, 11:00 a.m.
at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley, WI, with Father Robert
Nelson officiating. Burial was at Holy Family Cemetery. Friends
called at Plombon Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and
from 9:30 till 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home.
