Edna Williams
(1914 - 2000)
Former Withee resident Edna Esther Williams, 85, Altoona, died Sunday, Jan. 23 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27 at
Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee, Clark County, WI. Burial will
take place at Pine Hill Cemetery in the Town of Mayville, Clark
County. Pallbearers will be Larry Kadolph, Leo Stewart, Danny
Fagan, Joseph Daum, Gerald Daum, and Jason Lulloff.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at the
Maurina Funeral Home in Owen and on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until
the time of service.
The former Edna Keskimaki was born on September 16, 1914 at
Ishpeming, Mich. to the late Isaac and Hannah Keskimaki. She
graduated from Withee High School in 1931 and completed the Eau
Claire Teachers College program. She taught for the Withee schools
and the Town of Holway schools for 13 years.
Her marriage to Harold Victor Williams, who died March 11, 1996,
took place on June 10, 1944. They farmed in the Town of Holway for
many years and upon retiring, moved to Withee. After her husband's
death, she continued to reside in Withee until she moved to Woven
Hearts Assisted Living Center in Altoona in May of 1999, and then
to Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona in September of 1999.
She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mavis (Rodney) Schultz, Eau
Claire, and Nancy (Les) Chasey, Rochester Hills, Mich. two sisters,
Ingrid (Gordon) Hamrick, Medford, and Gertrude Smith, Manawa five
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death
by two sisters, Kathryn Hansen and Irja Smith and three brothers,
Eugene, Laurie, and Martin.
