HENRY WOEPSE
Greenwood--Funeral services for Henry Woepse, 78, of route 4, Greenwood, Clark County, who died Tuesday evening, Oct. 27, 1942, at his home following a lingering illness, were held Friday afternoon, Oct. 30, at 2 o'clock at West Side Reformed Church. Interment was made in West Side Cemetery.
The Rev. P.H. Franzmeier officiated at the services, during which
the senior choir sang "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "Christi Blut und
Gerechtigkeit."
Pallbearers were Jake Speich, Ed Geisler, Ed Braun, John
Scheuermann, Calvin Franz, and William Schlinsog. Flower girls were
Bernice Vollrath, Bonnie Nourse, Shirley Braun, and Violet
Horn.
Henry Woepse was born Jan. 8, 1864, to John and Phillipina Woepse
of the Town of Mosel, Sheboygan County, and attended schools in
that vicinity. He was married June 28, 1896, to Johanna Schmidt of
the Town of Meeme. Mr. and Mrs. Woepse resided on a farm in the
Town of Meeme until 1910, when they moved to Greenwood. In 1916
they move to the present Woepse farm home in Braun Settlement.
Surviving are his widow, five children, Mrs. Gust (Anna) Horn, Town
of Warner John at home Mrs. Henry (Mary) Horn, Town of Longwood
Oscar of Spring Lake Heights, N.J. and Mrs. George (Eveline)
Kuester, Town of Longwood two brothers, Herman of Cleveland, and
Frederick, Sheboygan and 10 grandchildren.
A sister, Mrs. Fred Hasche, Sheboygan, preceded him in death two
years ago.
Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Fred
Woepse and Mrs. William Gutknecht, Sheboygan Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Woepse, Mr. and Mrs. August Schmidt, Mrs. Henry Schmidt and son,
Ervin, Art Hasche, and Herman Gutenberger, Cleveland Walter Woepse,
Manitowoc Mr. and Mrs. Art Frane, Athens Mr. and Mrs. Elroy
Gutenberger and daughter, Mrs. Frieda Gutenberger, Art Schmidt, and
Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidt, Colby.
