John Devere Wuethrich, age 66, of Owen, formerly of Greenwood, died at Clark County Health Care Center on Tuesday, August 3, 1999 at 6:05 a.m.


Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 1999 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greenwood. Rev. Terri Blomberg will officiate and burial will be at Greenwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Pallbearers will be: Jay Stump, Tayt and Trevor Wuethrich, Leonard Rueth, Dan Stensgard, Clarence Cornman and Thomas Schleicher. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.


John Devere Wuethrich was born on January 27, 1933 in Greenwood to John D. and Ragnhild (nee Emberson) Wuethrich. His early education was received in Baltimore, MD and he graduated from Greenwood High School. He farmed raising registered hogs and enjoyed traveling and his family. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Greenwood FFA. He resided in the Clark County Health Care Center for the past two months.


He is survived by two sisters: Diane (Philip) Mattes of Thorp and Dawn (Keith) Stump of Loyal one brother: Dallas (Lois) Wuethrich of Greendwood three nephews: Jay (Lona) Stump and Tayt (Dawn) Wuethrich of Greenwood and Trevor (Tonia) Wuethrich of Marshfield three nieces: Laura (Tom)Mattes Schleicher of Oconomowoc, Jill (Clarence) Cornman of Greenwood and Janet (Dan) Stensgard of Duluth, GA four grandnephews: Weston and Walker Wuethrich, Austen Stump and Jackson Stengard one grandniece: Leah Stump. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood.
