ELEANOR YSTAD


Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood, for Eleanor Ystad, 77, route 3, Greenwood. She died Saturday, Jan. 14, 1989 at 1:45 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Rev. Richard Sorenson officiated, with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons Ryan, Paul and Perry Grutza, Brian Ystad, James Winkler and James Schultz. Aage Nielsen and Gerald Olson were honorary pallbearers.


Eleanor Olson was born Jan. 25, 1911 in Neenah, a daughter of John and Thora (nee Bragstad) Olson. After moving to this area, she graduated from Greenwood High School in 1931. On Oct. 25, 1933, she and Ralph Ystad were married in Winona, Minn. They farmed in the town of Warner from 1935 until 1968, later moving to the city of Greenwood.


She is survived by her husband threes sons, Neil of Spanaway, Wah., Ronald of Nekoos, and Roger of Baraboo one daughter, Mrs. William (Gwen) Plonty of West Allis one brother, Melvin, of Greenwood 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother, Oscar.


She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Naomi Circle.


Finka Funeral Home, Greenwood, handled funeral arrangements.
