Lillian Zalewski
(1914 - 1999)
Lillian Zalewski, 84, Owen, Clark County, WI died Monday, Nov. 29 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at
Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford with Rev. Dr. Paul C.
Hunsicker officiating. Burial took place at Riverside Cemetery in
Withee. Pallbearers were Mike Thompson, Russel Nelson, Les Michel,
Tom Nelson, Nathan Thums, and Delbert Zimpel.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30 and on Wednesday,
Dec. 1 from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at Christ Lutheran
Church.
Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford assisted the family with
arrangements.
The former Lillian Lentz was born December 14, 1914 at the Town of
Hixon to the late Wilhelm and Natalie (Torn) Lentz.
Her marriage to Edward Zalewski, who died June 18, 1976, took place
on December 17, 1938 at Chicago, Ill. They continued to live in
Chicago and later in Peru, Ill. In 1944 they moved to a farm north
of Withee and in 1961 purchased a home in the Town of Hixon. She
worked as a nursing assistant at the former Havenet Nursing Home in
Owen and then at the Clark County Health Care Center over a period
of 25 years until retiring at the age of 70.
She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee and
was active with Ladies Aid and LWML. She enjoyed deer hunting and
fishing.
Survivors include: two daughters, Alice (Lloyd) Nelson, Reedsburg,
and Jean (Wayne) Thompson, Dorchester one sister, Elsie Windham,
Seward, Alaska. one brother, Gust Lentz, Coos Bay, Ore. six
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death
by, two brothers, Robert and Edmund Lentz one sister, Martha Lentz,
and one great-grandson, Joey Sigafus.
