MARTIN ZICKERT
Funeral services for Martin Zickert, 83, Route 2, Greenwood, Clark County, were held Wednesday, June 3 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood. Lay Minister Tom Garrison officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Walter Decker, Harvey Goehke, Selvian Krultz, Jerry Larson, Joe Bizjak and Jonas Raber. The body will be cremated.
He died on Saturday, May 30, 1987 at the Neillsville Memorial Home
at 8:05 p.m.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1903 at Watertown, Wis. He received his
education at a rural and Parochial Loyal school.
He married Rosella (Dolly) Cronin on Oct. 10, 1936 at
Greenwood.
After their marriage, he became a cheesemaker, went to Hartford and
worked for West Bend Aluminum. He moved to Greenwood in 1946 where
he owned and operated Mart's Bar until 1958. He then was involved
in the construction trade.
He belonged to the Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church
council and also served on the Town of Warner School Board.
Surviving him are his wife Rosella one son, Colonel Martin J.
Zickert, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida two brothers, Glenn of Waupon
and Francis of California two sisters, Mrs. Clayton (Florence)
Solberg of Waupon, and Mrs. Dolie (Lorraine) Uttech of Phillips and
three grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents Rhinehardt and Louise (nee
Grosnick) Zickert, and three brothers.
Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
