John W. Zurakowski, 75, Cadott, Wisconsin, formerly of Thorp, died at his home Sunday morning, April 21, 1996.

John was born November 23, 1920 to Walter and Phyllis Zurakowski. He married Frances Soborowicz, June 4, 1949 at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp. He was a member of the Thorp American Legion Post 118, a director with McMillan-Warner Milwaukee Insurance Company, a member of St. Bernard's-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 24, 1996 at St. Bernard's-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp with Rev. John Puerner officiating. Burial was in St. Hedwig's Cemetery, Thorp with Military Rites conducted by the Thorp American Leion Post 118. Legionaires served as pallbearers.

Surviving are his wife Frances Zurakowski of Cadott five daughters: Jacqueline (Raymond) Vetterkind, Thorp, Lori (Butch) Offord of Gilbert, Arizona, Karen (Joel) Stuttgen of Eau Claire, Kathryn (Don) Trush, Madison, Judith (Steve) Rauch, Woodbury, Minn. three sons: Walter (Kimberly), Thorp, Patrick (Fiancee Dawn), Thorp, Tom (Fiancee Edwina), Thorp 17 grandchildren one great grandchild his father, Walter Zurakowski, Thorp one brother Lawrence Zurakowski, Thorp and two sisters: Amelia Schmidt, Milwaukee and Phyllis Tienda, Chicago.
