OBITUARY OF MRS. ARTHUR E. HIMES


Mrs. Nettie May Himes (nee Carey) was born in Michigan, April 11, 1874, and passed away at her home in the town of Longwood, Clark County on Oct. 10, 1935, at the age of 61 years and 6 months.


She was united in marriage to Arthur E. Himes at Sioux Falls, S.D., on Oct. 21, 1893. To this union were born twelve children, Lauretta, Mrs. Cliff Breneman, Ray, Minn. Alma, Mrs. Wm. Lange, Milwaukee, Wis. Minnie, Mrs. Hubert Brown, Greenwood, Wis. Hazel, Mrs. Paul Acker, Greenwood, Wis. Estelle, Mrs. Wm. Creg and Arthur, Withee, Wis. Robert, Owen, Wis. Nathalie, Delmar, Wallace, and Lester at home. One son, Leonard, preceded her in death, his passing occurring May 19, 1916.


She leaves to mourn her passing,, her husband, eleven children, sixteen grandchildren, two brothers, George and Arthur Carey, her father, W. D. Carey, five sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law and three sisters-in-law, as well as many friends and acquaintances.
Mr. and Mrs. Himes have lived in the state of Wisconsin thirty-eight years and none of this time they have lived and made friends in this locality.


Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 p.m. and at the Beaver Church at 2:00 p.m., Rev. C.R. Gaylord, pastor of the Greenwood Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery, with Griebnow Weirich of Owen in charge.
