DEATH OF MRS. ROEWERT


The death of Mrs. W. Roewert occurred Sunday morning, Oct. 5th, 1911, at their home in the town of Eaton, nine miles southwest of Greenwood, Clark County, of diphtheria. Burial took place Tuesday afternoon at the Lutheran Cemetery at Globe.


Mrs. Roewert complained of a sore throat on Monday, the 9th, but believing that it was only a sore throat as she had had many times before, objected to calling a doctor until Saturday, the 14th. Although strenuous efforts were made at that time to save her life, the end came as stated above.


Maria Wheeler was born Aug. 3rd, 1865 in Green County, Wis. She was married to Wilhelm Roewert, Sept. 6th, 1884. Six children were born to them, two died in infancy, three sons, Louis of Everett, Wash., Charley F. and Ray O., who are living at the home, one daughter, Mrs. Cora Rowald, of Rock County, Wis. Besides these she leaves a husband, one brother and three sisters to mourn her untimely demise.


Mr. and Mrs. Roewert began their married life in Rock County, Wis., where they live one years, four years in Lincoln County, Minn., four years in Arapahoe Co., Col., eleven years in Rock County, Wis. From there they came to the Town of Eaton, Clark County, where they have since made their home.
