GEORGE SCHELLINGER
George Schellinger, 67, of 318 South Union St., Loyal, Clark
County, passed away at his home at 6:50 a.m., Wednesday, March 30,
1977.
Funeral services for George Schellinger were held at St. Anthony's
Catholic Church, Loyal, at 11 a.m., Friday, April 1. Rev. Chester
Osowski officiated and mass servers were Joel, Merle and Mark
Schellinger, grandson of Mr. Schellinger. Burial was made in the
parish cemetery.
A P.C.C.W. Rosary was held at 3 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m.
on Thursday, March 31.
George Schellinger was born to George and Mary Bath Schellinger on
Oct. 15, 1909, at Hartford and received his education at Hartford
Schools.
He came to Loyal in 1927 and worked for various farmers in the
Loyal Area.
He was married to Marcella Schweiger at Loyal on Jan. 7, 1930.
After their marriage they returned to Hartford. They resided there
for one year and then came back and purchased a farm in the Town of
Eaton in Greenwood and farmed until 1942, when they returned to
Loyal. He was employed by O. W. Trindal Company, Loyal, for 28
years, retiring in 1973, due to ill health.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Church and was in the Sportsman's
Club at Loyal. He was also a member of the Loyal Fire
Department.
Surviving him are his wife, Marcella four daughters, Mrs. Gwen
Sheeham of Milwaukee, Mrs. Cal (Jane) Castner of Waukesha, Mrs.
Donald (Joan) Stangl of Marshfield and Mrs. John (Susan) Blair, Jr.
of Manchester, Conn. two sons, Richard of Allenton and Gary of
Spencer three brothers, Edwin of Anaheim, Calif., Hyron of Ft.
Meyers, Fla., and Art of Hartford three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Theda)
Wiedmeyer of Hartford, Mrs. Mary Goeller of West Bend and Miss
Loretta Schellinger of Milwaukee and 21 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four
sisters.
Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons, Kevin Sheehan, Greg
Stangl, Carey Castner, Jeffrey Castner, Michael Schellinger and
Brian Sheehan.
Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
