E. H. THOMPSON

E. H. Thompson died at Waukesha, Wis, Feb. 7, 1911, of old age. He was born in Dundas, Canada, Oct. 10, 1834, and came to Wisconsin in 1855 and settle at Waupaca. In 1857 he married Myra Spencer and to this union were born seven children, four of whom still survive. Deceased was a resident of Greenwood, Clark County from 1892 until four years ago, when he and wife went to live with their daughter, Mrs. A. P. Adams of Delafield. Two years ago he was taken to a sanitarium at Waukesha on account of his failing health. During his last few months he failed quite rapidly until death relieved him of his sufferings. Although his death was note unexpected it came as a sudden shock to those who were endeared to him.

During Mr. Thompson's residence in Greenwood he was appointed postmaster, in which capacity he served four years during president Cleveland's administration. Later he conducted his business, that of Jeweler, in his old home where J. Volk and Brother now have their tailor shop. His life was quiet and peaceable, always willing to serve others and to do his duty as it should be done. He was a member of the Masonic order.

Through the passing away of this good man, his relatives and friends have lost an endearing and conscientious friend. Funeral services were conducted and interment made at Waupaca.
