OBITUARY


Fredrick Soefker was born in Fuhden, Buekeburg, Germany, Nov. 10th, 1838 and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Adolph Meyer, in Greenwood, Clark County, on Friday, June 24, 1910. Mr. Soefker passed the greater part of his life in this country, having come here when a young man, settling in Sheboygan County, later coming to Greenwood, where he had cleared himself a large farm and was enjoying the fruit of life.


He was married to Miss Friedrike Koch on the 30th day of Oct. 1869, previous to coming to the United States. To this union were born nine children, five of who are still living to mourn his loss, also a beloved wife and several grandchildren.


Deceased was an esteemed neighbor, good father and a faithful servant to his church. For a number of weeks he had been sick and was finally taken away by death, from the effects of asthma and old age.


Funeral services were held in Immanuel's Reformed Church on the West Side, Monday June 27, and interment was made in the West Side Cemetery.
