OBITUARY
William Rossow quietly passed away at his old home in the town of
Beaver, Clark County, a few miles northeast of this city on Friday
Oct. 22, 1910. Heart failure and old age were the cause of his
death at the round old age of seventy-six years, three months and
twenty six days.
He was born in Falkenwalde, Germany, on June 28th, 1834, and was
married to Miss Minnie Broecker at that place in 1856. He, with his
family, immigrated to America in the fall of 1874 and remained at
Sheboygan, Wis., until the spring of 1875, when he moved to Clark
County and settled on his farm in the town of Beavers, where he
died.
He was the father of four children, three boys and one girl, two of
whom still survive, August and Julius. As a father and a man
devoted to his family he had no equal, always being kind and
friendly with those he came in contact. During his life hew was a
strong, healthy, robust man, in perfect health until two years ago,
since which time he has been totally blind and gradually sinking
away.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday, at half past
ten and in the Lutheran Church in Loyal at half past twelve, Rev.
Kemana officiating. Interment was made in the Lutheran Cemetery
just north of Loyal.
