WILLIAM BERGER


William Berger, a well known farmer living one half mile south of Neillsville, Clark County died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1909. His death was due to cancer of the stomach. William Berger was born Oct. 7, 1865, in Prussia, Germany, and came to this country in 1873 with his parents who settled in Dodge Co., Wis. He was married in 1888 to Augusta Krueger, and to this union five children were born, all of whom survive, Esther, Arthur, Martha, Walter and Paul. He leaves also two brothers, Rev. G. H. Berger of Forestville, Wis. and four sisters, Mrs. Wm. Hafeinmeister, of Watertown, Wis., Mrs. Frank Welles, Mrs. John Drews and Mrs. Emil Worth of Ashippin, Wis. His aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Berger also survive him. All were present at the funeral with the exception of his mother who has been an invalid for some time and one sister, Mrs. Worth.


Mr. Berger moved to Neillsville in 1900. The funeral was held at the German Lutheran Church at two o'clock Monday, Rev. Brandt officiating. Interment took place in the Neillsville Cemetery.
