PERRY CHRISTIE
The sad intelligence of the death of Perry Christie, who died at Portland,
Oregon, July 21, 1909, and which we chronicled some weeks ago in the Gleaner,
was received with anguish by the bereaved parents at Christie when the news
arrived. His death was caused while working in the woods by a falling tree, a
limb of which struck him in the head and knocked him unconscious, dying after a
period of twelve hours.
Mr. Christie was a young man only 24 years of age, and was born in Christie July
14, 1885, where he lived with his parents up to about three years ago, when he
went west. He was expected home from the west about the first of August. Besides
loving parents, he leaves to mourn his death two sisters, Mrs. Louis La Barge of
Potalash, Idaho and Mrs. O. Pencost of Spokane, Wash. three brothers, Phillip,
Hugh and Free of Christie, and a host of loving friends, as he was a young man
who made friends everywhere he went.
The remains were interred at Woodburn, Oregon, July 29th.
