DR. G.L. BULAND DIES IN WEST

Dr. G.L. Buland, prominent banker and citizen of Castle Rock, Wash, died Monday afternoon, Feb. 17, 1930, cancer being the cause of death.

Deceased will be remembered here by many of our readers as he practiced medicine in Greenwood, Clark County from 1883 to 1899, and then moved to Castle Rock, Wash., where he has since resided.

Mr. Buland was born in Leland, Ill. On Jan. 29, 1861, and spent his early life on a farm near the same place. He was educated in the schools of Chicago and graduated from Rush Medical College there. He then located at Greenwood, Wis., where he practiced medicine for 15 years, coming west in 1899. He first settled at Montesano, but stayed there only a few months and then went to Castle Rock where he established the Castle Rock Bank.

While in Greenwood he was in 1884 married to Miss Bertha E. Mason, who survives him. Besides the widow he leaves two daughters, Mrs. G. N. Campbell of Kalama and Mrs. Arthur Bryan of Tacoma a son, George L. Buland of Portland and four grandchildren, Katherine and George Campbell Jr., of Kalama, Barbara Bryan and Nan Bulan.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Castle Rock.
